Homework Update

4th Grade Homework Sheet
Dear Students and Parents,
Just an update on the expectations at this point in the year regarding the student’s independent reading. 4th grade students in 3rd trimester should be reading and AR testing on one chapter book per week. The students and I have discussed this in class. Students are given an opportunity in class to read independently throughout the school week, but should also spend time at home reading for at least 20 minutes daily.
Also, just a reminder that next Friday, April 23 is a half day at OLA. The students’ school day will end at noon and parents need to make transportation arrangements accordingly. Thank you so much for adjusting to this change in the schedule since the teachers will be attending an In-service in the afternoon with other Diocesan teachers.
The PTG performance will be on May 6, 2010. Please have students continue to learn the words to all the songs by practicing singing to the CD’s daily. Additional information can be found on the PTG Information Sheet in this homework folder.
Student grades can also be checked by visiting www.gradelink.com regularly. Please turn in any pledge money for the Spell-A-Thon to class so that it can be counted toward your 3rd trimester assessment fees. Thank you for your participation!!
Finally, please check the homework folders for any tests in which students have scored below 75%. Students may make corrections on a separate sheet of paper for tests only. Since we are in the middle of 3rd trimester many students need to re-stock their supplies for the classroom: glue sticks, sharpened pencils, erasers, paper, etc.
