Their homework in the next two weeks is to use the information on the worksheet to create a well written paragraph about each topic. We have been working on this during our Social Studies time in class and will continue to complete the topics over the next two weeks. Students will bring their paragraphs to school and they will design the cover for their report in class and assemble the project on Thursday, June 4th.

The family life assignments should be worked on by the student and discussed with the parent. Please use the permission slips and the suggestions for at home enrichment activities at your own discretion.

FABULOUS PTG PERFORMANCE!!

Fri. May 8th – Thurs. May 14, 2009
4th Grade Homework Sheet
Dear Students and Parents,
Students are allowed to wear Fun Fair t-shirts to school from now until the Fun Fair instead of regular uniforms. Also, students are reminded daily about washing their hands and following good hygiene practices throughout the day. We are using disinfectant sprays and wipes regularly and any supplies sent in from home will continue to be used.
Fourth Grade’s PTG performance was incredibly FABULOUS! The fourth grade has a lot of amazingly talented, young stars and it was a privilege and a pleasure to watch them all shine! Thank you to all the parents and relatives that donated props, costumes, and unique talents to make our show the best. Since we were so great we have been requested to perform at the upcoming Funfair. Please let me know if your child will able to perform on Sunday, May 17th. Students can report to 4th grade at 12:30pm and we will perform on stage at 12:45 pm. (I will pass out the hats and ties in 4th grade.) We have also been requested to perform on May 28th for the OLA Senior Club because Sister Maura and Sister Camillus were overwhelmingly impressed with the unique talents of these terrific fourth grade students!
Progress Reports were sent home on Thursday and should be returned to school with a parent signature. Thank you for encouraging your child to finish fourth grade well by completing all assignments and promptly making corrections on any tests marked below 75%. Every child can succeed and improve, so I look forward to watching them all continue to blossom in these next few weeks.
Also, next Friday is free dress for fifty cents. But since the fourth grade students were so amazing and dedicated a ”YO” song to Father David, he announced that they could have a free dress for free in return as a token of appreciation for their sweet tribute that made him smile from ear to ear. (So three cheers for Fabulous Fourth Grade:“YAY 4th GRADE! YAY 4th GRADE! YAY 4th GRADE!”
These students are wonderful and I am so blessed by teaching them daily. There will be a noon dismissal next Friday( 5/15 to set up for the FunFair) so please have transportation arrangements made ahead of time for your student.

PTG PERFORMANCE MAY 7, 2009-Important information

Fri. May 1st – Thurs. May 7, 2009
4th Grade Homework Sheet
Dear Students and Parents,
Students are allowed to wear Fun Fair t-shirts to school from now until the Fun Fair instead of regular uniforms. Also, students are reminded daily about washing their hands and following good hygiene practices throughout the day. We are using disinfectant sprays and wipes regularly and any supplies sent in from home will continue to be used.
Fourth Grade’s PTG performance is scheduled for Thursday, May 7th in the hall. There will be an afternoon rehearsal/performance at 12:45 pm and an evening performance for parents and family members at 6pm sharp. Students need to be in the fourth grade class at 5:40pm. We are practicing our tribute to jazz and learning five songs to perform. We are practicing daily in 4th grade. Students with speaking parts should have their lines memorized by Monday (5/4), and students should also bring in their costumes by Tuesday(5/5) of next week to be checked and kept in the classroom for performance days. Please continue to practice the songs at home or in the car. Please encourage your child to practice, practice, practice!
So far, we are planning for the boys to wear black slacks, white button down and dark sunglasses. Girls will need to wear colored skirts/ white t-shirts and black sunglasses.
Also, students will begin making a Mother’s Day gift next week. This is a special way for students to show their love for the moms in their lives. I have spent over $25 of my personal money, but students still need to bring in $3 each next week to cover costs of their gifts. Please turn in your money by Wednesday, May 6th.
The homework schedule has been modified. Please note there is no outside reading scheduled and the math homework for the week will only consist of any math not completed in class. (Students should use the extra time to practice the songs, speaking parts, and dance for the PTG.)
Progress Reports will be sent home on Thursday, May 7th. This is just a glimpse of the student’s grade and final grades will be given out on their report cards in June.
Lastly, Nicholas Sablan has shared an opportunity with 4th grade to raise funds to protect the Bonobo gorillas, widows of park rangers, and children left orphaned through www.1000classrooms.org. Nicholas is our student representative and the Sablan family has graciously offered to host a classroom raffle on May 8th, 2009. Each raffle ticket will cost $1 and the raffle will be held in two weeks. The students continue to care about their community. I am so blessed to work daily with these Ambassadors of Hope! Have a great week!
