Tuesday Math...How Big Is One Million?? (Parent Education Session)

Today in class students continued in their studies of place value. But they excitedly were able to discover 1,000 thousands equal one million! (1000x1000=1,000,000)Students also used the math period to discover that one million is the same as 10 hundred thousands. They were then assigned Pg.40 all and Pg.41 (EVEN #) to further practice these mathematical concepts. Also, they were given thirty minutes in the afternoon to finish up this assignment if they needed more time. Students not finished can complete this work at home. (Pgs.40-41 are due tomorrow morning at 7:55am.)

Also, please note there will be a parent education meeting on Wednesday, September 30, 2009 from 3:00-4:00 pm in the fourth grade classroom. This will be an informal meeting in which I can clarify the fourth grade procedures since you have now experienced life in the fourth grade world!
