Fourth Grade students are daily reminded about washing their hands regularly. Student areas are being disinfected on a regular basis and students are reminded the proper way to cough and sneeze so that spreading of germs is kept to a minimal. Any donations of disinfectant wipes and sprays will be added to our supply and used continually in the days to come.
Please try to reinforce these concepts at home as we do our best to get through the coming days flu free!

Homework- AR Reading Log due on April 30th!!
Fri. April 24th – Thurs. April 30, 2009
4th Grade Homework Sheet
Dear Students and Parents,
The fourth grade class will host Mass next Friday (5/1)at 8:15 in the church. Students should all wear full mass uniforms to school. We will have the May Crowning and then students will be allowed to attend the family day celebration in the hall, if family members attend. Students can bring their favorite board games to school on Friday and family members are welcome to tour the classrooms following the breakfast. Students are allowed to be checked out following the activities before the noon dismissal, but just need to be signed out through the office.
Fourth Grade’s PTG performance is scheduled for Thursday, May 7th at OLA. There will be an afternoon rehearsal/performance during the school day and an evening performance for parents and family members at 6pm sharp. Students need to be in the fourth grade class at 5:40pm. We are practicing our tribute to jazz and learning five songs to perform. We are practicing daily in 4th grade.) Enclosed in the homework folders is a CD for each student to use so they can continue to practice the songs at home or in the car. Please encourage your child to practice, practice, practice!
Students will need to be dressed with costumes for the PTG performance. Last year, a parent donated partial costumes and props for the performance and if you are able to make a donation for our performance please send me a note promptly on Monday morning. I would appreciate your help so much since the students are excited to make this PTG performance a great one! So far, we are planning for the boys to wear black slacks, white button down shirts and colorful loose neckties with black top hats and dark sunglasses. Girls will need to wear colored skirts/ white t-shirts and black sunglasses. More information will be sent home next week as the students practice and progress in this effort.
Lastly, Nicholas Sablan has shared an opportunity with 4th grade to raise funds to protect the Bonobo gorillas, widows of park rangers, and children left orphaned through www.1000classrooms.org. Nicholas is our student representative and the Sablan family has graciously offered to host a classroom raffle on May 8th, 2009. Each raffle ticket will cost $1 and the raffle will be held in two weeks. The students continue to care about their community and being good stewards of God’s Earth and I am so blessed to work daily with these Ambassadors of Hope! Have a great week!
